Description

This module gives an overview of the current and future technologies for deriving energy from biological sources. Biological feedstock and routes to the generation of energy will be discussed. Source, production and properties of biofuels, such as bio-methane, bio-ethanol, bio-hydrogen, bio-butanol and bio-diesel will be explored. Biomass as a source for combustion and its properties will also be considered. Microbial fuel cell technology will also be discussed as an option for producing energy from biological processes.
